On the way to work, I stopped at an Arby's to look at the area next to the drive-through window. I found 4 pennies, then when I got back into my truck, I spotted another. When I went to pick that penny up, I saw another one. This kept on happening until I found a total of 8 pennies. I also found a penny at work, then a dime and penny in our apartment parking lot.
I have known for a while that drive-through windows would be a goldmine, the trouble is finding the right time to check them out. When they are open, it is tough, because there are always cars around. When they close at night it is dark, and I am usually in bed. Checking them out on the way to work is nice, but the problem is that many of them are open for breakfast. I pass by a Chick-Fil-A, Wendy's, Sonic, Burger King, & McDonald's on the way to work, they are all busy with breakfast traffic.
So now my real question is this - If I do a night time drive through sweep for change (maybe with a flashlight) am I a change race genius, or a complete loser. The answer might lie somewhere in between!

I've gone out at night. And sometimes I go early, before opening, at fast-food joints that open late, like Taco Bell.
