Day 164

I broke down today. Much like an alcoholic who is sober for months, then after one drink, goes on an all-night bender.

Driving back from the Astros game tonight (A game the Astros won on a walk-off homerun by Mike Lamb. Always a good time to see a game end like that), I stopped off to get some gas. I found 2 pennies on the ground. But more importantly, I noticed that the Chick-Fil-A next door was closing up. I just COULDN’T resist anymore! I went over there and found 1 dime and 5 pennies.

Then on the way home, I stopped off at JR’s car wash and found 6 nickels and 2 pennies. Oddly enough, except for one penny, all my finds were found in the washing area, not the vacuum area. There was change left on 4 of the 6 ledges where you put in quarters for the self-wash.

I was so close to having the “All-Natural” month, but I just lost self control tonight. Maybe it had to do with the scant finds this month. Maybe it had to do with a friend who just started to read the blog and today said, “You are really slacking in your change finding!”. No matter the reason, I’m off the wagon. But I’m still going to try for mostly natural finds, but if they aren’t there, I am going to do some searching, because multiple days of zero change is unacceptable.

Total for the Day - $0.49
Total for the Race - $36.95

Today marks the highest race total sine June 16th, 2005 when I found $1.47.
The six nickels found today, marks the highest one day total of nickels found during the race.

Wow, I had no idea that my saying this (“You are really slacking in your change finding!”) would effect you in such a HARD way. I promise I will never make comments like that again.

No, it was a good thing. It got my mind out of the "Natural Find" clouds and back into the race.

So, where is your blog? I see that you have a profile, but no blog listed.
People need to know your views on how hot Lance Berkman is!

Good to see you off the wagon. Finds, even if they are not natural, make for good reading.

If you didn't stop at JR's, then I think you'd still be all-natural. As long as you don't go out of your way, a find is natural, in my humble estimation. You were at the gas staion. Chick-Fil-A was right next door. It seems reasonable to me to take a poke around and see what you can find.

I don't know how to list my blog on my profile. I tried last night, but couldn't get it to work. Enlighten me will you?
