Day 248

I found 1 penny in the parking lot while walking into work today.

After dinner, I had planned to make a quick change run, but I am just to tired and don't feel like going out. I'm not happy sitting on one cent for the day, but I also want to just climb into bed.

I really enjoyed this book, and had a hard time putting it down. Once again, the book proved to be much better than the movie. It really did a great job of capturing the the mood and the feel of the time and place. He did a great job of moving the story along, and not getting to bogged down with all the math and science behind the rockets. It was really a story about the town of Coalwood and it's people, that used the rocket boys as a backdrop. I enjoyed it so much that last week I went onto Amazon and bought......

It is actually the second of the three books that Hickman wrote about Coalwood and the rocket boys. This story takes place during the fall/winter of 1959, which was Homer's Senior year in High School. While this time period was covered in Rocket Boys, this memoir goes into much detail about the people and places, it is almost like looking at a chapter of Rocket Boys with a magnifying glass, or at least that is my impression. If I enjoy it (Which I have little doubt), then the third and final book in Hickman's Coalwood trilogy.

Total for the Day - $0.01
Total for the Race - $68.05

That is a really interesting competition you have going there.
Must be good friends if you trust them not to cheat.

Good luck!
