At Wendy's this morning I found 1 nickel and 3 pennies. The nickel looked very new, while 2 of the pennies looked very worn. The other penny was blackened a bit which gave it a very cool look. Oddly, the blackened penny was the youngest of all the pennies, minted in 1999 as opposed to 1996 & 1974.
I find it interesting how different coins can look after they have been in circulation. Many times, as was the case with the penny today, they end up having a much more interesting look than they did when they were mint. It could make for a very interesting art piece.
During my lunch break, I ran to Wal-Mart to pick up some stuff and I found 1 penny and 1 dime. Then at Kroger I found 1 nickel while picking up stuff for dinner.
Total for the Day - $0.24
Total for the Race - $97.36

Ahamed - Thanks, I got the idea of all black, from you. So sorry for the steal.
Liza - First off, welcome back! Sorry for all the mystery. I was checking to make sure my comments were working correctly. As for the new look, I've been toying with the idea for a while now. Just time for a change (no pun) in the blog.
Wow, the new look is solid, but you need to spend more time finding change and less time playing with the blog. There will be pleanty of time to play after $100!
