Day 404

This morning at my lucky stoplight, I found a dime in between lanes, and since the light was red, I had no problem picking it up.

I was a bit peeved when I hit a red light at the NEXT stoplight, but the penny that I found on the ground made up for that feeling!

At work I found 2 pennies in the middle of a hallway.

I finished The Perfect Story by Adam Cohen. It was a very easy read and since I sell about 15-25 things a week on eBay, very interesting. I learned where the names eBay and Yahoo! came from. Not only did Cohen do a great job of telling the story of how eBay began (Did you know it is one of the few internet start-ups to make a profit every month!), he mixed in stories about people who make their living on eBay and some of the other interesting stores that eBay created. The only problem that I had with the book, was that the day I was leaving for Vegas, I had about 40 pages left in it. There wasn't enough time to polish it off before I left, but I also didn't want to take a "lame duck" book to Vegas. So I actually started my next book in Vegas, and then finished off Perfect Story the night I got back.

Over the last 3-4 months, I have become a HUGE fan of Mad Money on CNBC, watching it almost every night. Over the last month, I have been podcasting his Real Money radio show. So I was excited to start reading this book. All I can say is that if you enjoy Cramer, then you will really enjoy Confessions of a Street Addict. I have only been reading it for a week, and I am already 150 pages in. While I was in Vegas one of my friends saw this book and said, "I can't believe that you are reading that book, considering most of it is a bunch of lies." It took me a moment to figure out that he was talking about the Oprah Book Club book (Broken Glass or something like that) and thought that this was it, since it had the title "Street Addict".

Total for the Day - $0.13
Total for the Race - $167.94

Confessions was the book that got me into Cramer. It's also the book that has stoked my dreams of someday having my own on-call driver.

I must say that it was the Mad Money TV show that got me into Cramer, but I am REALLY enjoying the book.
Yes, I do like the idea of having a driver with the strech Caddy Limo.
If I could just find a few more $50's!
