This morning I found 1 penny at Arby’s. That was what I was sitting at as I went to the Astros game. While leaving the game (A another Astros win), I found 5 pennies and 1 nickel under a seat, along with 2 coke bottle caps which were each winners of a free 1 liter coke product.
On the drive home, I stopped off at Chick-Fil-A and found 1 dime and 2 pennies. I also found a dime in the pay phone at the Shell station across the street. Amazing, it was the first coin that I have found in a pay phone during this race.
At McDonald’s I found a quarter (which gave me the change cycle for the day), dime and 6 pennies. At JR’s Car wash I found 8 pennies and a Texas Lottery coin for scratch off tickets. I do not have a Not Change Cup like Chris, so I’m not sure why I picked this up. But I will share the pictures with you before I put it in my version of the Not Change Cup, aka a trash can.
Total for the Day - $0.62 – Change Cycle
Total for the Race - $43.84

Your Not Change Cup, AKA trash can blast made me laugh out loud. Congrats!
Chris
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Will have to start one of these with some of my friends
So do you get bonus points for the texas lotto coins? Great idea, the coin race!
Chris:
Happy you liked the Trash Can blast.
Tim:
Thanks for the nice comments and for stopped by
Tex:
That would be great if you started up a change race with your friends. You would have to give me the info for the blog when you get it set-up. And you would also have to stay away from my area :-)
Street P:
Unfortunatly, I do not get extra points for the lotto coin. It would be nice. If you go to the beginning of the blog, you can see all the rules that we have for this race.
Thanks to everyone for stopping by, look forward to seeing you again!
You have to keep that coins--it's neat-o.
I don't find as many coins in pay phones anymore, either. I think it's because of the increasing penetration rates of cellphones. I mean, how often do you even see anyone use a pay phone anymore.
Don't worry, this'll be the Dallas/Ft. Worth Change race. Unless you want to have a regional or statewide competition.
Tex:
I know I have found some change in the DFW area, but I guess you are safe looking there. A Houston vs. Dallas Change Race sounds like a good idea. I'm thinking it might be a bigger rivelry than Redskins v. Cowboys.
Chris
I like the idea of a statewide competition!
