Day 237

Early morning runs to KFC, Taco Bell & Wendy's provided me with nothing. I was almost ready to just head into work, but I made one last stop at Arby's, where I found 1 dime and 5 pennies.

It was a wonderful morning, as the tempature has finally dropped and feels more like fall. It was a nice breezy 65 or so this morning. That is the one thing I miss most about the midwest, the fall weather. Nothing was better than a cold rainy day during the fall, when there were leaves all over the ground. Don't quite get that in Houston.

While at work I found 1 quarter under a vending machine. And while walking out of work, I found 1 nickel in the hallway, completing the change cycle for the day.

But the story of the day has to be about the quarter that got away. While walking down the hallway and talking with a with a co-worker, she leaned down right when I kicked a quarter. I had not noticed it, and she had, which was why she was bending over! I was shown up by a rookie. She said that even though she saw it, I did kick it, so we both had some ownership of the quarter. So she flipped it and told me to call it. I called heads, and since it was tails, she kept the quarter. I don't know if I would have counted it even if I won the toss, but I am more annoyed that I missed the quarter in the first place. So even though this was a good day in change, and a change cycle, it will be remembered for the quarter that got away.

Total for the Day - $0.45 - Change Cycle
Total for the Race - $62.63

You should have ohhhh ohhhhed the quarter and then she would have had to respect your claim of ownership.

You are right.

I blame myself for not spotting it sooner, so I could do the Ohhhhh, Ohhhhhh.

Or I could put the T.O. Spin on it, and blame my coach, society and even you!
