Day 252

Today Marti and I tried something new and different. It was actually a suprise on my part, I took Marti out to the country to a farm that has a corn maze. We have seen these on TV before and have always wanted to try it. The maze was broken up into 2 parts. The first part was very easy, and we got through it in about 15 minutes. The second part was much harder, and had us confused for a while, which made it much more fun.

On the way back, I found 1 quarter and 1 penny at the toll booth. I also saw a quarter and nickel that were to far back to grab without REALLY holding up traffic. But there is some serious change to be found at tollbooths. I just have to find a way to get it without paying the tolls and holding up traffic.

After watching the Astros game, I went out to do a change run, along with going to the post office, bank and Blockbuster. I hit various drive-thrus and found 3 dimes, 2 nickels and 27 pennies. I'm to tired to write out the break-down. The only coin of note was a nickel that was on the side of the road and it seriously scratched up.

Total for the Day - $0.98 - Change Cycle
Total for the Race - $69.69

(I'm just to tired, so go ahead and make up your own 69 jokes!)

In New Jersey, at least, picking up change at tollbooths is illegal. Those coins are considered property of the respective highway authorities.

Where's that corn maize at?

I so disagree with the laws in NJ then. That change was dropped by drivers and the highway authorities have no right to it. Because they made the person pay the full toll PLUS take the change on the ground?? Uncool indeed.

As for the Corn Maze, it is west of Houston, at a place called Dewberry Farm. They have a website.
