Day 470

Being from Indiana, I have always been a fan of the Indianapolis 500. I even went to it during the 80's and 90's as a kid. It is now one of my favorite events to watch on TV (It used to be blacked out in Indiana, so when I moved to Texas 5 years ago, it was the first time I had seen it on TV) which is odd, since I am not a big racing fan. (My thoughts from last year's Indy 500 can be found here)

Either way, congrats to Sam Hornish Jr., for winning the race in pretty amazing style. I actually like Hornish, mainly because I read that even after he made a few million with IRL, he still lived above his parents garage, Mike Seaver style. Marti's favorite, Danica Patrick, drove strong, but finished 8th. Overall it was a very good race, many of my favorite drivers in IRL did very well (Hornish, Kanaan, Patrick), and the race had a great ending with Marco Andretti having an amazing race for a 19 year old! Reminded me of the ending of the 1992 race with Al Unser Jr. just beating Scott Goodyear.

Later this night, Marti and I went out to Slick Willie's to play some pool. Great name for a pool hall, huh? I found 1 penny on the ground near the cash register.

Total for the Day - $0.01
Total for the Race - $180.54

Nice Poseidon recap! What did you think of Da Vinci Code? Brian and I saw that last night.
