I found a dime and a penny on the way to work. They were at the same stop light that I found the pennies at about a month ago. Normally when I find change on the road, it is against a median or curb, but this is right between two lanes. Very odd. But it is nice to get an unexpected find, instead of hunting down a coinstar or drive-thru for some coins.
Looking back over the past 2 weeks, I'm a bit disappointed that I was not able to gain on Chris at all. While Marti was gone, I was able to hit my dollar days, but sadly, Chris did the same. Then while in Vegas, I was enjoying the batchelor party, and was just worried about keeping the streak alive, whereas Chris used that time to pad his lead.
Chris has now doubled by total. I still plan on going for $100 and beyond, and keeping track of my change finds. It makes for a nice diary. And while I'm not putting up the white flag, I do notice that it is getting away from me. Chris continues to say that it is still close and that his high numbers won't be able to keep up. I believe that it is like the Yankees saying that they don't plan on spending money next year. I'll see it when I believe it.
I'll put this out there right now. Unless he just totally falls apart, or starts to underperforming to spite me, Chris will reach $100 this calendar year.
On another Chris related note, I really liked his co-workers idea about finding out the percentage of coins that are tails up instead of heads up. Very interesting. I had actually thought about keeping track of this. I REALLY like the idea of the government funding this research. Maybe I need to get the Free Money from the Government book by Matthew Lesko (Question Mark suit guy) and see if there is some funding money for such a quest.
Total for the Day - $0.11
Total for the Race - $12.85

In Vegas you got lap dances, won money and had people buy you drinks. I found change. I think we both know who the winner is.
