Before I went to work, I stopped off at Wendy's. I was walking up to the drive-thru window when I noticed someone working at the register, which is odd, because normally there is no one there. When I got to the window, she opened the window and said they didn't open until 9:30 am. I nodded and looked down and said, "Look, lucky penny!". She just laughed and went back to work, and I was richer by 2 cents. Everything after this was a natural (a find where you are not going somewhere just to look for change) find.
I also made a quick stop at CVS and found a dime and a penny on the floor near the register. I was a little worried that this would be it for my day, and I would end on 13 cents for the day. I never like finishing up a day on 13. Thankfully I didn’t have to worry about this for long, as I found a dime near a vending machine at work.
I finished The Last Best League by Jim Collins, in only 15 days, and it wasn’t a picture book! That is solid for me. Marti pounds like 3 books a week, but it normally takes me a month or so to finish a book. This was an easy read, and was an interesting look into the Cape Cod League. I really want to get out there sometime and check out a game, which are all free! I also learned that 1 in 5 players in MLB right now, played in the Cape. Sometimes Collins would go on tangents which were a bit random and seemed to weigh down the book a bit. While he focused on 3 players, he would spend chapters talking about different players on the team, and with 25 or more guys on the team (There were some replacements for injuries) it was tough to keep track off. But overall a very good read, and worth while if you are into baseball.
Next up for me is Catch Me If You Can by Frank Abagnale. This will mark the first time that I have read a book AFTER seeing the movie. Please understand that this book was not written after the movie, it was published in 1980. I’ve never understood why you would read a book which was based on the movie. But this is not the case. I’m interested to see if the book is better than the movie. In my experience, the book always has more detail and seems to catch more of the personality of the characters than the movie. I am usually disappointed with the movie if I have already read the book. I know that I was with Seabiscuit
Total for the Day - $0.23
Total for the Race - $24.07

Haven't read "Catch Me if You Can", but I liked the movie.
Funny how people say finding a $0.01 is good luck. Personally, I'd prefer to find a nickel or dime, I mean, it's more.
So far in 2 days, I'm already 150 pages into the book. I would say that so far the book is MUCH better than the movie.
As for finding silver. I agree, quarters can be more exciting than finding pennies. But sometimes finding a hidden dirty penny can be just as rewarding.
