Day 175

Ealry this morning, I hit most of the same spots as I did on Friday. I did go to JR's Car Wash, and I found someone who left a ton of trash between some vacuum cleaners. Receipts and car records, and thankfully for me, the plastic inside one of her cupholders. It was filled with neugot or caramel, but also filled with 2 quarters and 1 nickel. One quarter was so messy, I had to use the receipts to clean off the quarter before I put it into my pocket. All told, I found 2 quarters, 5 dimes, 2 nickels and 12 pennies on my change run.

This afternoon Marti and I went to the pool, and I found a nickel near the hot tub. In the past few weeks, the pool area has provided some great finds for me, and today was no exception.

As Marti and I left dinner (We went to Johnny Rocket's for the first time, and must say it was excellent, plus it was fun when the ENTIRE waitstaff got up and danced when Staying Alive came on the jutebox!), I found a penny in a crack in the middle of the road. There was no traffic, so it was easy to get, but it was interesting to see that it has been bent by cars running over it, but did not break. Here is a picture of the bent penny next to normal or control penny which was found today.

Total for the Day - $1.28 – Change Cycle
Total for the Race - $42.76

Props on the control penny. I like the scientific aspect that you are bringing to the table.

Wow, I was thinking of going to Johnnie Rockets, too. But the mall we visited didn't actually have one.
