Day 188

On Wednesday I was at my lucky stoplight, when I noticed a silver coin on the ground RIGHT as the light turned green. So on Thursday, I pulled on the side of the road in hopes of running across a few lanes of traffic to pick up my find, just like I did on Day 11. There was never a break in the traffic, so I had to abandon the quest. This morning I was coming up to the light, which was green, and slowed down to a crawl so I could get the red light that I needed. There were no cars in front or behind me, so once the light hit red, I was able to drive up to my spot and pick up my seriously beat-up quarter. This might be one of the most scratched up coins I have found in the race. If you look VERY closely, you can see George Washinton's face on one side, but besides that, it is as beaten up as Ike Turner's new girlfriend.

I also found a penny under a vending maching while at work.

After work, Marti and I went to a party at a co-worker's house. In their entry way I found 1 penny, which I was able to retrive while we were on our way out.

Total for the Day - $0.27
Total for the Race - $44.65

Marti actually blogged again tonight. Very solid post. I would check it out, and while I won't give away all the details, she might have entered the change race tonight! Or the Biscuit race!

That's a solid "quarter." Nice work.

This jogged my memory about something I forgot to mention in my post: I spotted a dime as I was leaving a small gelato shop near our house, but I was unable to retrieve it. I hope to go back and get it soon.

What a COOL blog! I stopped by to thank you for commenting on my "things I find" blog and found myself caught up in your race. I'll be back!
